In 1971 Seaguar invented fluorocarbon fishing lines with proprietary flouro resins made specifically for fishing lines. It's these exclusive resins made by Seaguar and used only in Seaguar line, coupled with Seaguar's exclusive control over the manufacturing process from start to finish, that ensures the highest degree of performance on the water. Each Seaguar line has a unique formula, and by using raw materials that match the desired line characteristics, we can offer a variety of lines with different characteristics.
Our most important criteria for quality is stable strength, but each line has been formulated for various characteristics, including: thread diameter, elongation, flexibility, and abrasion.
We conduct extensive tests to quantify and analyze line characteristics objectively. We control the diameter of our lines in microns (one thousandth of a millimeter) — with the maximum value, minimum value, average value, thickness irregularity, and flatness inspected and controlled.
We measure true strength at the development and inspection stages with strength value (unit: Kgf/mm2) to avoid being misled by the diameter of the line. And because knot strength is crucial, our lines are produced by controlling the knot strength as an inspection standard.
