SEAGUAR UNVEILS BRAWLR, A PREMIUM MONOFILAMENT LINE BOASTING LESS STRETCH AND BETTER KNOT STRENGTH

Houston, TX - (June 2026) - As popular as fluorocarbon and braided lines have become, monofilament is still the king of fishing line, and it has many applications and benefits. No matter your target species, there is a firm place for monofilament fishing line in your arsenal.

With this in mind, Seaguar set out to create the best monofilament on the market, with higher knot and tensile strength, a thinner diameter, and less stretch than traditional lines. The finished product is BRAWLR, which meets or exceeds all leading competitors across all those important metrics.

Seaguar, the inventor of fluorocarbon fishing lines, has been developing its own lines for decades and is one of the most advanced line manufacturers in the world. Using its vast expertise in fluorocarbon extrusion technology, it developed BRAWLR, a monofilament designed to tackle any fishing situation.

One glaring weakness with some monofilament lines is stretch, and BRAWLR has been lab-tested to have 10 percent less stretch than other leading monofilament lines, according to Gerry Benedicto, General Manager of Seaguar.

“Seaguar set out to make the best monofilament line on the market that solved the issue anglers everywhere have with most monofilament lines, strength and line stretch,” said Benedicto. “Using our decades of line manufacturing expertise, Seaguar made a commitment to utilize the technology we’ve developed with fluorocarbon line extrusion and to bring that to monofilament. Our extensive testing, both in the lab and on the water, went exceptionally well, and we’re proud of what we created with BRAWLR.”

During development, Seaguar created a unique resin recipe for less stretch and their PTD Process (Pinpoint Thermal Dynamics) to boost knot and tensile strength. Compared to leading competitors, BRAWLR has a 13-percent thinner diameter, 8-percent more tensile strength, and 17-percent more knot strength. The benefits of these are many, including improved lure performance and the strength needed to land more fish.

On the water testing backed up the raw numbers, and the result is a monofilament line unlike any other, according to television host and fishing personality Mark Zona. “The castability of BRAWLR is fantastic, and its strength and toughness are exactly what you’ve come to expect from Seaguar,” he said. “There are many applications for a monofilament line, and for the bass angler, BRAWLR is a topwater fisherman’s dream line. This is a line that can do it all and will change the way you think of mono.”

Troy Peterson, owner of Mr. Bluegill Guide Service in Wisconsin, gave BRAWLR mono a good workout on bluegills and other panfish. “We fished weeds and brush and had flawless performance,” noted Peterson. “This is a highly visible line with exceptional sensitivity which made all the difference with light-biting bluegills.”

With multiple line sizes and two colors available, BRAWLR will meet the needs of many target species. The low-visibility green hue offers anglers stealth, while the clear fluorescent hue increases visibility, especially for those fishing at night with black lights.

Seaguar BRAWLR Premium Monofilament will be available in sizes from 2 to 30 lb test, with spool sizes between 250 and 330 yards, depending on pound test. It will be available in both clear fluorescent and low-visibility green, with a retail price between $11.99 - $16.99
