Seaguar Employees And Factories Spared In Japan Disaster

Manufacturing operations in Japan for SeaguarŪ fluorocarbon line and leader were virtually unaffected by the country's monumental natural disaster. The primary facility used for line operations had minimal damage as a result of the earthquake and no damage from the resulting tsunami.
"Compared to many companies in the region, we were extremely fortunate," said Fred Daniell, Kureha America executive vice president and general manager in charge of Seaguar's USA operations. "Thankfully, all our employees and their families are safe and operations continue as the whole country responds to this disaster."
In the days following the disaster and with folks from around the world searching for news and updates, calls to the New York office increased significantly from distributors, retailers and anglers expressing sympathy and concern. "The outpouring of concern from our customers was heartwarming," said Mr. Daniell. "They say tragedy brings people together and we owe a big thanks to everyone who took the time to see how they could help our peers in Japan."
While disrupted for about two weeks, the overall supply chain in Japan has rebounded and, in many cases, goods are once again being shipped from the country. Seaguar's USA operation has sufficient inventory for this fishing season and does not anticipate any disruptions to its supply chain or ability to fulfill Seaguar products to its US customers.
