1930 - Frigidaire's Thomas Midgley demonstrates the safety and efficiency of fluorocarbon refrigerants at a meeting of the American Chemical Society in Atlanta. The fluorocarbon industry is born.
1944 - Kureha Chemical Industry, Co., Ltd. founded in Tokyo, Japan.
1949 - Kureha Chemical Industry, Co., Ltd., shares are listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1954 - Kureha's Biomedical Research Laboratories are established.
1962 - Kureha begins researching and developing Fluorocarbon resins. Nishiki Factory Research Center is established.
1966 - Kureha invents Fluorocarbon Fishing Line and files a patent request.
1968 - Kureha begins to product Fluorocarbon resin.
1969 - Kureha is awarded a patent for Fluorocarbon Fishing Line; the company launches its Fluorocarbon Development Project.
1970 - Kureha launches production of Fluorocarbon resin.
1971 - June 12, Kureha masters the production process and produces the first batch of Seaguar 100% Fluorocarbon Fishling Line (Red Label brand).
1972 - Kureha introduces Seaguar Fluorocarbon Fishling Line to attendees of the Osaka Fishing Tackle Exhibition.
1975 - Kureha's Food Science Research Laboratories are established. |

1994 - Seaguar introduces Big Game Leaders
1996 - Seaguar launches Grand Max Tippets, Tapered Leaders and a Fluorocarbon main line called Carbon Pro, known as Ultra Soft in Japan.
2005 - InvizX brand Fluorocarbon line is launched, lab tests prove it to be 40% softer than competitor fluorocarbons. Fluoro Premier Leader is also introduced to the US, known as Hune Harisu in Japan.
2006 - Seaguar improves on the Grand Max Tippets, launches Grand Max FX.
2007 - Seaguar develops Level Wind Technology, a spooling technique that lays the line flat to avoid cross over marks, keeping the line smooth and strong, pure from the start.
2009 - Seaguar introduces its Red Label brand to the US; Launches AbrazX and AbraxX Ice brand Fluorocarbon Fishing Line.
2010 - Seaguar introduces Tatsu, the first and only double structure mainline on the market. |
